Cytotec (misoprostol) is a prescription medicine that can be used by people taking certain NSAIDs who are likely to develop ulcers due to the treatment and need medical attention due to that. Drugs from that group are often used to treat inflammations and pain, so their use cannot be avoided. Your health care provider needs to know if you have any particular medical conditions that may prevent you from safety taking this medicine. The following ones have been reported to affect your treatment negatively if the dose is not adjusted timely by a professional: irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal problems, and inflammatory bowel disease. Each dose is supposed to be taken as prescribed with a full glass of water. Unless your health care provider told you otherwise you will need to take Cytotec 4 times a day at – three times with meals and once before going to bed. You can carry on with your treatment and talk to your health care provider if you have any of the following side effects that are considered to be mild: irregular menstruation, headache, constipation, menstrual cramps, flatulence, and vomiting. If those side effects change in intensity and get bothersome – it's best to report them to your health car provider as soon as possible.
